General

Further information are available here.

Our courses take place in any weather. The only exception is that all the mountain railways cease to run.

Basically we are very grateful if you contact us in advance for group and private courses. This makes it easier for us to allocate instructors. Especially in the group courses we can only provide enough instructors on site, if we know how many children will be attending.

In the peak season (Christmas/ New Year and in February) it is vital to reserve in advance. We recommend that you book in good time (minimum 3 weeks in advance).

Our ski instructors wear yellow trousers and blue jackets with the Davos Skischool signatures on the back. Our snowboard instructors also wear yellow trousers and a blue Jacket. Furthermore, each instructor has a personal name label on the chest of the jacket. Each instructor knows the name of his guest.

Yes. We are pleased to issue gift vouchers for a stated service or amount. Please contact us at: +41 81 416 24 54, info(at)ssd.ch or book directly on our voucher page.

You'll find numerous Sports Shops in Davos. Some are located in Davos Platz and some in Davos Dorf.
You can find a detailed list here.

We do not work directly with any of the sports shops.

As well as cash in CHF, we accept all current credit cards, such as Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, V-Pay, Postcard and TWINT. We also accept Davos gift vouchers.

Group courses

Children can participate at a ski course in the Snowgarden from 3 years (in the company of their parents). From 4 years, children can join the Kids Village course.

For Snowboard Group lessons kids need to be able to stand up on their own on the board. For kids from 3-6 years old, who never stood on snowboard we have a Kids Village course.

During group courses, our instructors always speak German and English. If you require other languages, we recommend booking private lessons.

Grouping is done onsite by the instructors. In the Sales Office, grouping occurs based on the Swiss Snow League, the training system of the Association of Swiss Ski and Snowboard Schools. Children who have already participated at a Swiss Snow League course, will be assigned to the group based on their booklet.

The instructor will notice quickly and assign your child to the correct group. Changing the group is possible at any time, during the week too.

We do not refund the money. However we will try to find a fair solution for you. e.g. credit for private lesson. In order to test a course, we offer half-day courses (for the Blue League) or single one-day courses (from Red League). We are happy to credit paid trial days to the week card (except for packages).

Ski lessons: The ski pass is included for the valley lifts in the Snow Kids Village and the Blue League. For excursions to the ski resorts, Blue League beginners receive reduced day cards from the skischool. From the Red Prince level, all participants require a ski pass. Either purchase a ski pass yourself (or perhaps you have received one already with your hotel booking) or, starting from 5 days you can purchase a Lessons and Ski Pass Package from us.

Snowboard lessons: Ski pass included for the valley lifts in the Blue Prince and Blue King levels. For excursions beginners receive reduced day cards from the skischool. From the Blue Star level all participants need a ski pass. Either purchase a ski pass yourself (or perhaps you have received one already with your hotel booking) or, starting from 5 days you can purchase a Lessons and Ski Pass Package from us.

Basically yes, provided that your child can brake and do some some plough turns. However, starting on a Friday makes little sense, since that is when the ski and snowboard races take place. Complete beginners can join group courses until Tuesday only.

Yes. The selected course days for a one-week course ticket have to be redeemed on consecutive days. Otherwise please purchase single course days.

From the Blue King/Queen level, children will need ski poles. No, wearing a helmet is not compulsory. However, we recommend that a helmet is worn from the first day, so that your child can become accustomed to it. Helmets can be rented in the Sports Shops.

The final ski race takes place on Fridays. For valley courses (Snowgarden - Blue Star) on Bünda and Bolgen. For courses from Red Prince onwards the race takes place on the Rinerhorn slope in the morning. Your instructor will inform you about the exact start time on Friday morning. The prize awarding ceremony takes place immediately after the races. The Snowboard Courses will end with a great Teamevent in each class on Friday aswell.

All the children, who take part in the children’s race, receive a medal.

Children, who are instructed in the valley (Ski: Blue League and Red Prince and Snowboard: Blue Prince and King) have the possibility of attending lunch care in the Bolgenplaza or Hotel Bünda. Please purchase a coupon for this purpose in good time from one of our Sales offices. Children, who do not attend lunch care, must be collected by their parents at 12 noon at the collection point.

On full day courses (Ski: from Red King, SB: from Blue Star) the pupils spend lunchtime with the instructor in a restaurant in the ski resort. Please give your child about CHF 25.00 per day in cash for the lunch.

Yes, that is possible if we are also offering full day courses. Please enquire directly at the Bünda or Bolgen sites and purchase "lunch care" in one of our Sales offices.

Always at the place where you handed it over to the instructor in the morning.

Private lessons

Private lessons are offered every day at certain times. We recommend booking the lessons in advance. Otherwise, we are unable to guarantee a place during peak season.

In all ski resorts of the Davos/Klosters region. You can meet your instructor at one of the sign-posted meeting places of the Snow Sports School or ask to be picked up in the hotel.

Cancellations can be made against a handling fee of CHF 40.00 per item until 48h before the course starts at the latest. Later cancellations (from 48h before the start of the course) will be charged at 100%.

On the Bünda and Bolgen valley ski lifts you ski free of charge if accompanied by one of our instructors. Once you are fit enough for the mountain, you have to purchase a ski pass for the respective resort by yourself.
